Removing WGA Notification

Got that annoying wga notification message on the bottom right hand corner of your PC? Worry no more. We got it busted here. The basic steps:

1)      Start Windows In Safe Mode
2)      Launch Windows Task Manager.
3)      End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.
4)      Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.
5)      Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32.
6)      Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache.
·         (In steps 4 &5, u can do this using command prompt: i.e.
·         Run cmd-then to go to the root of C,
·         CD windows\system32 and then use Del wgatray.* /f/s/q/a and press enter.)
7)      Lauch RegEdit.
8)      Browse to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\
Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify
9)      Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents
10)  Reboot Windows XP.
